Daniel Dain, Sr.

Daniel Walter Dain, Sr., passed away on Sept. 26, 2017, at his home in Covington, LA. He was born on July 2, 1937 in Jordan, to the late Walter Earl Dain and Grace Hawker Dain.
Dan was married to his beloved wife, the late Marlene “Joan” Dain, for 55 years. He was the loving father of Frank Woods (Lois) of California, Daniel Dain, Jr. (Katherine) of Texas, and Debbie Lhotka (Gil) of Louisiana. Dan was the proud grandfather of Whitney Gordon (Morgan), Kimberlyne Dain of Texas, and Spencer Federspiel (Ashley) of Texas; great-grandfather of Chasity and McKinlee with his third on the way. He was the brother of Chuck Dain, Linda Helwig, the late Mary Ann Buck and Harold Dain.
Dan served his country in the United States Marine Corp and fought in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Ugly Angels, VFW, Elks Lodge in Plano, TX, Master Gardeners of Corpus Christie, TX, and was active in the Master Gardeners of Louisiana.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, in the banquet room at St. Anthony’s Garden, 601 N. Holy Trinity Dr., Covington, LA, with Marine Military Honors at 2:30 p.m. Please Share a memory on the tribute wall at eifieldingfh.com.
