Upcoming Events

  • 18DecNestle History Displayed at the Pratt House MuseumThe John Wells Pratt House Museum is open for the season. This year the Friends of History in Fulton celebrates 45 years preserving and keeping Fulton’s rich history alive. Also, back by popular demand, is the Fulton Chocolate Works Museum. All history gurus as well as chocolate lovers are invited to the Pratt House Museum again this year to enjoy the sweet memories of Nestle chocolate in the air. Two rooms on the first floor of the Pratt House are dedicated to the Fulton Chocolate Works Museum as part of this year’s exhibits. Unique items on display include a contract Nestle made with a local dairy farmer for their milk back in 1902, a comic book that was put out about a kid who toured the chocolate plant in Fulton, tins, mugs, knickknacks, old packages, aerial photos, and much more. There are Nestle plant newspapers, including the first one from 1928, and a scrapbook with old newspaper clippings of advertisements and news items. Additionally, the Third Annual Pratt House Classic golf tournament is taking place Saturday, July 13 at Battle Island State Park Golf Course. There will be a 9am shotgun start for the captain-and-crew event. Registration includes lunch, a snack, and use of a cart. There will be prizes and games and basket raffles. For more information and to register go to http://www.pratthousemuseum.org/2024-classic.pdf. The Friends of History’s first chicken barbeque is happening June 2 at the Fulton Polish Home, and the Annual Pratt House Porch Party is set for June 14 – Flag Day. More Friends of History events are in the planning stages and will be publicized in the upcoming weeks. The John Wells Pratt House Museum is located at 177 S First St., Fulton, NY. The museum’s hours are 10am until 3pm Wednesdays through Fridays. For more information call 598-4616 or email [email protected].
