Dominick A. Carfagna, 90, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, in Syracuse. He was born on Feb. 14, 1931, in Syracuse to Cosmo and Livia Carfagna. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Grace Osborn (Robert.)
He is survived by his twin brother Dr. Vincent Carfagna (Bernice) of East Aurora, N.Y.; nieces Catherine (David) Carfagna-Meinzer and Diane Parker (Jason); nephews Michael (Amy) Carfagna, Stephen (Laura) Osborn, and Christopher Carfagna; as well as five grandnieces and grandnephews. He is also survived by cousins Doris Rolenz of Akron, OH, and Maryanne Cenci of Syracuse.
He was greatly helped in his final years by friend and caregiver Mrs. Melinda Kenney and neighbor and handyman Mr. Henry Damon.
Dominick graduated from Baldwinsville Academy in 1948, and from Le Moyne College in 1953 with an engineering degree. He was an avid tennis player and served as president of the Tennis Association of Central New York for several years. He later volunteered for several years until recently at the Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church in Baldwinsville.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, Nov. 12, at noon at St. Mary’s Church, with no prior visitation. Burial will be held privately with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church or St. Vincent De Paul.
