Event will raise funds for the Chase Angel Fund at CancerConnects
Momentum is building for the 4th annual “Teed Off at Cancer” golf outing, hosted by Stupid Dumb Breast Cancer at the Pompey Club on Sunday, August 14, The increasingly popular event draws together golf enthusiasts, local businesses and cancer warriors to raise money for the Chase Angel Fund at CancerConnects, Inc., which provides financial assistance to adult non-breast cancer patients in CNY.
Gearing up for the outing, SDBC is currently accepting registrations for foursomes and individuals, seeking sponsors for holes, carts, dinner and other sponsorship opportunities, and looking for volunteers to staff the event.
“Everyone’s life is touched by cancer in one way or another,” said SDBC Founder Ann Marie Giannino-Otis. “The players who participate bring great energy to my mission to support and advocate for the people in our community who are fighting cancer—not just the patients themselves, but their families and loved ones.”
Local businesses, groups and individuals are encouraged to sponsor a contest (fees vary) or a hole ($100), or donate a raffle prize. Cart and dinner sponsorships ($750) include a free foursome.
Entry fees for players and sponsors remain at $90 for an individual and $360 for a foursome. (Four-person team registrations are encouraged, but organizers will place individual participants into foursomes as necessary.) Please RSVP to this event by Monday, Aug. 8.
With a “Captain and Crew” format, the outing begins at 1 p.m. at the Pompey Club, 7200 Hamilton Road, Pompey. For full details, call 559-1203 or visit stupiddumbbreastcancer.com.
