The doors of the Liverpool Public Library have reopened to patrons who make an appointment online or by phone for one-hour time slots.
This phase of the library’s plans to bring services back to the community is titled LPL Express Visits.
Starting at 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday, 29 patrons each hourlong time period will be allowed to come inside the LPL: nine using computers and 10 each in the main room and children’s room. All patrons will be asked to maintain social distancing. Face coverings and masks must be worn. At the end of the hour time period, all patrons will be asked to leave the building for a half-hour period for a thorough cleaning before the next window starts.
Details can be found on the LPL website at lpl.org/explore/express-visits-and-grab-it-and-go/.
The phone number to call to make an appointment is 315-457-0310.
The LPL continues its by-appointment Grab It & Go: LPL Garage Holds Pick Up service as well.
“This phase was designed to provide access to our physical collections and computers while maintaining responsible safety measures for staff and the community,” said LPL Director Glenna Wisniewski. “Every decision in our planning during this pandemic has been with health and safety in mind. We thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate our way through this new phase of library service.”
Patrons in the library during the hour slots will be able to browse the shelves and check out materials using the self-checkout stations. Holds can be picked up if arranged beforehand. Assistance will be available at the Information @ LPL desk to complete a library card application or upgrade a temporary card. The self-service copier will be available, but the fax machine will not. No in-person help will be available at the computer stations.
