Toni’Lyn Brauchle, a Town of Cicero Youth Bureau, Parks and Recreation employee, was recently honored with the William Bub Award at the Association of New York State Youth Bureaus annual conference in Lake Placid. The prestigious William Bub award is given to an individual in New York State Youth Bureau system who has made an outstanding and significant contribution serving youth in their community.
Brauchle is a member of the Cicero Youth Bureau and the driving force behind the creation, implementation and continued operation of the CanTeen, which is a year round teen center in the town of Cicero since 1999. Brauchle has been working with and for youth in our community for more than 23 years in many different capacities, originally as an active parent with the school system when her children were young and then more formally on various school committees.
Brauchle served on the North Syracuse Central School District Board of Education for six years. She was also active with the After the Ball Committee, Cicero Optimists, Friends of the CanTeen and the North Syracuse Community Festival Committee. She is currently on the board of Cornell Cooperative Extension for Onondaga County.
“Toni believes in ‘youth voice,’ and everything she does is based on positive youth development principles,” said Jody Rogers, director of the Cicero Youth Bureau, Parks and Recreation Department. “She is the go-to resource in the community on anything related to youth and continues daily to carry the message to all our stakeholders that our youth are important and have incredible value. The town is very fortunate to have such an outstanding employee who has such a passion for working with and for youth in our community.”
Editor’s note: We wholeheartedly concur and would like to add that Toni is the bomb diggity. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.
