At the Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL), familiar and well-loved events such as an adult coloring program, book discussion groups, and children’s story times are joined by some new additions this fall:
Special Needs Gaming
Increase communication, social skills, cognition and more through gaming! This is a drop-in gaming session for adults and young adults with special needs and their caregivers and is held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Monday at NOPL @ Cicero.
LibraryFarm Theater
Join us this fall for a series of highly acclaimed environmental films along with a brief discussion. We’ll supply the popcorn and light refreshments. All films begin at 6:30 p.m. at NOPL @ Cicero.
- Sept. 29: “Bluebird Man”
- Oct. 13: “Dirt! The Movie”
- Nov. 17: “INHABIT: A Permaculture Perspective”
Stuffed Animal Storytime
The kids will be ready for bed after this storytime! We will sing songs and listen to stories about nighttime, and even make a craft. Kids are encouraged to wear their PJs and bring a stuffed animal.
Learn the art of T’ai Chi
Improve your balance and calm your mind as you experience this ancient art form. Learn postures and principles as you gracefully move through space. Held weekly from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays starting Oct. 5 at NOPL @ Cicero (six sessions).
Young Writers
Teen writers are in demand, so let’s get started! We will talk about and share our writing, work with concepts, support each other and generate ideas, and there will even be snacks! For grades six to 12. We’ll meet bi-weekly from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays from at NOPL @ Cicero starting Oct. 6.
When it comes to free and fun events at the library, there’s something for everyone! To register for one of the programs above or to see our full calendar of events, including movies, live music, and more, visit nopl.org/events.
