To the editor:
On behalf of the board of The Reading League, we would like to thank the many members of the local business community who contributed to the success of the first annual Reading League Conference held at the Hampton Inn on October 28.
Over 300 people from all over the globe attended this event and were welcomed by the hospitality of our charming village. Additionally, the post-conference reception held at Empire Farmstead Brewery was an opportunity to share with our presenters and supporters another one of our newest venues for holding events of this magnitude.
Thank you to the Hampton Inn for being willing to host the conference, the first one of its size in the new facility. Additional thanks to the local businesses who donated items that were raffled at the post-conference reception: Simply Fresh Flowers, Lavender Blue, Tizzy’s Antiques and Collectibles, The Square Marble, J.S. Hight and Sons Fine Wine and Spirits, Cazenovia Community Fitness, Common Grounds and Primo and Mary’s Salsa.
While we would like to think the 2018 conference, already being discussed, could be held in Cazenovia again, the grand success dictates that a larger venue will be necessary. However, Cazenovia will always hold the distinction of being the first community to host the annual Reading League conference and we look forward to holding our smaller events there in the future.
