To the editor:
Last Monday I inadvertently left my husband’s credit card behind at the check-out at Tops Market in Fayetteville Towne Center. On Tuesday, he asked me where the card was. I searched my purse, wallet any and all pockets and found nothing.
I was very upset and felt just terrible. As a last resort, I called the Tops store and my call was answered by a friendly woman named Debbie. I asked her if anyone had turned in a credit card. She said she had not worked the day before, but asked for the name on the card and I told her and to much relief she said, “Yes, we have it.”
I was thrilled beyond belief and told her I would be right down to get it. I spotted her name tag and she was right near the counter when I arrived and had the biggest, warmest smile when I told her who I was. She immediately went behind the counter to retrieve the card and I asked her if she knew who turned in the card. She did not know if it was an employee or a customer. My comment was, “It is so wonderful to know that there are such honest and good people here.”
So thank you to whoever you are. Thanks Tops Market and Debbie and God bless you and the person who not only helped me out but re-verified my faith in the good people in our community.
