From the Town Clerk: We have Mosquito Beater pouches for residents

By Dina Falcone

Lysander Town Clerk

The time of year has come where mosquitoes are not only becoming a nuisance, but a threat to the health of our community. The Onondaga County Soil and Water Conservation District (OCSWCD) has delivered to my office Mosquito Beater, a Bonide product, in water-soluble pouches. Upon dissolving, thousands of floating granules quickly and evenly release an active ingredient across the surface of any standing water, ornamental ponds, flowerpots, rain barrels and old tires. The OCSWCD has provided these items to our office free of charge, and they are available to property owners or lessees free of charge as well. So please stop by the town clerk’s office and pick up a package while supplies last.

We are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will be open until 6 p.m. on Monday evenings on the second and last Monday of the month. Be sure to refer to our website at townlysander.org for messages and hours of operation, or call my office with questions at 638-0224.
