A charitable organization can do a lot with $10,000, and Cazenovia resident Donna Denison is in the running to win that amount of funds for Multiple Sclerosis Resources of Central New York due to her status as a finalist in the Today’s Options Champions Competition, which was announced last week.
The Today’s Options Champions Competition is designed to recognize everyday champions who are making a difference in the lives of older Americans in Central New York. Denison certainly fits that bill, having worked with MS Resources since the organization was founded 18 years ago to help older adults suffering from MS maintain a dignified identity. She also runs a support group in Chittenango to help people face the disease. Denison herself was diagnosed with MS 30 years ago.
The Today’s Options Champions Competition is a great program and an exciting competition, and the five finalists all are competing for worthy charities: MS Resources, YMCA of Greater Syracuse, Elder Abuse Program at Vera House, Rescue Mission Alliance and James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre. Any and all of them deserve to win, but of course only one can.
So let’s all support our local finalist, Donna Denison, and help her support the charity of her choice with a $10,000 donation to MS Resources.
Voting for the Today’s Options Champions Competition is allowed daily at todaysoptionschampions.com from now through Aug. 25. Voting can be done online once per day per IP address — which means don’t just vote once on your home computer and call it day: vote once each from your phone, from your iPad, from your office computer and anywhere else you can.
The competition grand champion will be announced Aug. 30 at the New York State Fair — let’s win this one Cazenovia!
