Several world language students from Jamesville-DeWitt High School have attained national recognition for their excellent performance on the 2016 National Spanish Examinations and 2016 Concour Français.
On the National Spanish Exam, students from JDHS earned a total of nine gold, 33 silver and 26 bronze medals, along with 42 honorable mentions.
“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 160,000 students participating in 2016.”
On the Concour Français, students from JDHS also earned a total of six gold, seven silver, four bronze and 27 honorable mention.
Students from Jamesville-DeWitt High School have a long history of high achievement on these exams and were taught by Spanish teachers Mike O’Brien, Michele Kuon and Hank Cline and French teachers Solace Amankwah and Lauren Ludovico.
