Mary W. Delehanty passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at the age of 96. Mary was born on July 6, 1925, in Brainerd, MN, to John F. and Evelyn Woodhead. During her lifetime she moved over 30 times allowing her to make lifelong friends from coast-to-coast. Mary embraced each new home along the way where she enjoyed hosting both family and friends. She was a member of many clubs and organizations; garden, bridge, and newcomers to name a few, and was also an accomplished needleworker, as well as an avid bridge player. Mary served as a Sunday school teacher, worked as a secretary and a real estate agent. Reading was a lifelong love. There was always another book waiting to be read. Above all, she cherished time with her family.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Robert H. of 66 years and is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Jim) Benzing of Cazenovia, and sons, Jim of Reidsville, NC and Peter of The Woodlands, TX; her five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jeff) Cobb, Jeb (Carolyn) Benzing, Casey (Lauren) Delehanty, Erin (Bryan) Morrow and Rob Delehanty; and her seven great-grandchildren, Madden and Brady Cobb, Libby, Addison and Logan Benzing and Ian and Callen Morrow.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
