Margaret Patricia ‘Pat’ Johnston Brock, 92, died Sept. 15, 2017, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Rev. Arthur Johnston and Alice Kathleen Clarke Johnston and wife of the late Kenneth Lee Brock. She was born and raised in Troy and resided in West Sand Lake, Skaneateles, returning to Troy. She was a graduate of Emma Willard School, earned a bachelors degree in English from Russell Sage College class of 1947 and the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts. She also attended various arts and crafts courses.
Pat worked drafting in the State Architect’s office, the office of Highway Engineers, the State Education Division of Research and finally as an artist/designer for the State Education Department. She later worked for Rensselaer County ARC as a supervisor of the adult training class.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian in Albany and Brunswick Church, Aglow and a member and teacher at Birchkill Arts and Crafts.
Survivors include a daughter, Holly Lee (David) New, Poestenkill; a granddaughter, Erin Lee (Luke) Murphy Reiter, Averill Park and three great grandchildren, Kendall Lee, Maddia Patricia and Lucas Patrick Reiter.
Pat was dearly loved by her family, was a warm loving person devoted to her friends and family and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dept. 21, at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc., 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake with a service to follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Henry Kim, officiating.
Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery Skaneateles.
