Martha Mawson, 74, of Delphi Falls, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, Dec. 8, 2016, at Crouse Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, a daughter to the late Curtis and Helen Eaton and grew up on Pleasant Street in Manlius. Martha was a loving homemaker who enjoyed quilting with her quilting club and playing cards on Wednesday afternoon with her friends at CAVAC. She was a member of the Rescue Squad with the Delphi Falls Fire Department and a volunteer, EMT and Medic with CAVAC for 24 years.
Martha was predeceased by a son, Mark Mawson, who died May 4, 1985, and by a sister, Janice Hamblin.
She is survived by her husband of 55 ½ years, Robert F. Mawson; three children, Gregory Mawson of Manlius, Kevin R. (Christina) Mawson of Altamont, NY and Michelle (William) Schramm of Delphi Falls; one sister, Sandy Kendall of Manlius; five grandchildren, Ashley, Emily and Haley Schramm, Nicholas and Maria Mawson as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours: 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11, at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road, Cazenovia. Graveside services: 3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, at White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
