Moore, Kudarauskas elected to town board
First-time candidate Bob Wicks has been elected Lysander town supervisor, unseating incumbent Joe Saraceni.
Wicks, a Republican, received 2,949 votes, according to election night results. Although polls closed at 9 p.m., the full results were not available until almost midnight due to technical problems with the Onondaga County Board of Elections’ Results Caster.
Democratic challenger Kevin Rode received 1,649 votes. Incumbent Joe Saraceni, a Republican who ran on the Independence line, received 1,543 votes.
Wicks is currently the police chief in Marcellus.
Also in Lysander, Peter Moore and Jeff Kudarauskas were elected to the town board. Moore, a Republican incumbent, held onto his seat with 3,669 votes, receiving 34.17% of ballots cast. Republican challenger Kudarauskas received 3,418 votes (31.84%).
Gail Tosh, a Democrat, received 2,484 votes, representing 23.14% of ballots cast. She previously ran for New York State Assembly, 120th District, in 2018 and ran for Lysander Town Board in 2017.
Gene Dinsmore, running on the Conservative line, received 1,117 votes (10.4%). Dinsmore served two terms as highway superintendent from 2012 to 2017.
County Legislator Brian May, the Republican incumbent, retained his seat representing the Onondaga County Legislature’s 1st District. May received 4,271 votes, or 63.56%. Democratic challenger Justin Neal received 2,447 votes (36.41%).
May first joined the legislature in 2011. The First District includes the town of Lysander and the western portion of the town of Clay.
Lysander Town Justice Charles Mantione Jr., a Republican, was reelected with 3,663 votes (61.82%). Democratic challenger Timothy McMahon received 2,258 votes (38.11%).
