Becallo returns to town board; newcomer White elected
Former Onondaga County legislator Bill Meyer has been elected Cicero town supervisor. Meyer, a Republican, received 3,912 votes, or 54.57% of ballots cast.
Democratic challenger Judy Boyke received 3,248 votes (45.31%). Boyke is a current town councilor who was elected to one term as town supervisor in 2010.
As for the Cicero Town Board race, first-time candidate Nancy White, a Republican, was elected town councilor with 3,904 votes (28.37%). Also winning a seat on the town board was Mike Becallo, who ran on the Republican and Libertarian lines, earning 3,499 votes (25.43%). Becallo previously served on the town board from 2014 to 2017.
The other Cicero Town Board candidates received the following vote totals:
- Nate Riley, Democrat/Working Families: 2,619 votes (19.03%)
- Joyce Villnave, Democrat: 2,412 (17.53%)
- Dick Cushman, Republican: 1,318 votes (9.58%)
Cushman had served on the town board for the past five years.
Cicero Town Clerk Tracy Cosilmon, running unopposed, retained her seat with 6,031 votes (99.26%). Cosilmon, a Republican, has served as town clerk for 19 years.
Highway Superintendent Chris Woznica, the Republican incumbent, also ran unopposed. He received 6,113 votes (98.8%).
Onondaga County Legislature
In the Third District, which includes portions of the towns of Cicero and Manlius, Republican incumbent Tim Burtis retained his seat with 3,848 votes (64.75%). Democratic challenger Gary Williams received 2,091 votes (35.18%).
In the Fifth District — which includes parts of Cicero, DeWitt and Salina — Republican incumbent Deb Cody was reelected with 2,787 votes (56.43%). Democratic challenger Jessica Bumpus received 2,150 votes (43.53%).
