The Edwards/Wevers VFW Post 7290 invites the community to help say thank you to the men, women and families in our community who answered our country’s call to service at an event May 20.
There will be an open house and BBQ from 1 to 4 p.m. with a Vietnam veterans award ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Edwards/Wevers VFW Post 7290, 105 Maxwell Ave., North Syracuse.
Last year, the town of Cicero joined more than 8,000 communities, businesses and organizations in the Commemorative Partner Program for the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. The Commemorative Partner Program assists in thanking our Vietnam veterans and their families’ right in their own hometowns. There are approximately 7 million Vietnam era veterans in America today with many right here in our community.
