To the editor:
Is it true that when a town of Cicero police officer retires after 20 years of service (minimum of 10 years with the town), his/her health insurance is still covered by the town? And the town will pay 75 percent to 100 percent of the premium depending on certain conditions? And that this will continue beyond the age of 65; in other words, the retiree will not have to go on Medicare?
Is it true that town of Cicero police officers work four days on, two days off (1944 hours in a year)? And is it true that because of this, there are up to 15 days in which they do not work, yet the town pays into the New York State retirement plan as if they worked those days?
