The DeWitt Police Department has reported the arrest of two individuals on Dec. 19 following a suspicious person complaint in the Genesee Hills area in DeWitt.
Police say an observant resident alerted police to two suspicious individuals in the Genesee Hills area at about 2:40 a.m. on Dec. 19. Officers subsequently located two individuals matching the description of the suspicious individuals near the intersection of Haddonfield Drive and Lansdowne Road.
Upon further investigation officers determined that the individuals were involved in a large amount of larcenies from vehicles in the area. A large amount of stolen property was subsequently recovered from the suspect’s, a “stash” pile and the suspect’s vehicle.
Police report William R. Cronk Jr., 21, of North Syracuse, and Gregory O. Stone, 22, of East Syracuse, were subsequently arrested and both charged with one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree (class E felony) and petit larceny (class A misdemeanor).
Both individuals were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of DeWitt Court at a later date. Police say to call 911 if you see any suspicious activity or feel you may be a victim of vehicle theft.
