On Monday, Dec. 12, Manlius Police units responded to a report of a missing person. A 22-year-old female described as endangered by her family left her residence in the vicinity of Brickyard Falls Road, Manlius, at about 2:12 p.m. The female was observed on foot in the Manlius area over the next two hours but, was actively avoiding police.
A New York State Police bloodhound located the female at about 5 p.m. in a wooded area in the vicinity of Watervale Road. The female was treated for hypothermia and has been reunited with her family.
In addition to the NYSP bloodhound, the Town of Manlius Police Department was assisted by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, the New York State Park Police, the New York State Forrest Rangers and Wilderness Search and Rescue units.
Residents in the area who may have received an automated phone call regarding the missing female do not need to report any additional information.
