Q: What problem does your business/organization solve?
A: The Fashion Rescue 911 Boutique solves the need of convenience. We stop, you shop! You can book the truck for a private home or work event, and you can shop the truck at many public events all over the Syracuse area, too. The mobile business is primarily a seasonal business due to our weather in CNY, so with the addition of the boutique location you can now shop all year round. Opening the “bricks and mortar” location has allowed us to expand our inventory to fit the needs of many. We inspire women of all ages to look and feel their best — just as they are. We now have the ability to carry women’s clothing and accessories ranging in sizes small to 3X, as well as many gift items.
Q: Why does your product or service stand out?
A: The Fashion Truck is one of a kind. It’s the original street boutique of the 315 area, and it’s a moving billboard in itself. The boutique stands out in its ability to combine personal service with community support. I have made it part of my mission to bring in several local vendors as it’s important to me to support local and give back as much as I can. We want you to feel like you are part of something more than just the one store you walked in. Supporting us means you support your entire town.
Q: Why did you choose to locate your business in B’ville?
A: Baldwinsville is known for its strong sense of community and for its built-in support system. I have never felt more welcomed into a place than I have here. Although I did not grow up right in Baldwinsville it did not take long for me to feel like it was home, especially for my business.
Q: What is your favorite part about the B’ville community?
A: My favorite part is hands down the support system of the businesses around me. There is a sense of camaraderie amongst everyone. Shop local is a common thought on the minds of every Baldwinsville business owner.
Q: What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in the last year?
A: The most important lesson I’ve learned in the last year is that delegating is the key to success. I am only one person and in order to get the most out of my business experience, I had to learn to take the offers of help that others often extend to me. It takes a village and luckily my village is Baldwinsville.
Q: What do you see for your business in the next five years?
A: I see myself comfortably in the same location. However, I plan on expanding in the area of the personalized shopping experience. I am becoming known for things like the “sip and shop” and other experiences like these. This allows people to relax and shop with friends, making shopping more of a social experience. It takes away the stress of finding that perfect item, and allows you to have the support of your friends and family through the entire experience. I want more people to utilize this option.
Q: What has been your most satisfying moment in operating your business?
A: My most satisfying moment was the completion of the fashion truck. I was able to turn my dream into reality. Since then, it has been a collection of small satisfying moments, consisting of me being able to share my dream with others.
Q: If you were to tell one person “thank you” for helping you become the person you are today, who would it be and what did they do?
A: I cannot pick just one. I want to thank my entire family. They were my original structure and support system. Because of them I have been able to build off of that and extend it to others. I learned a strong work ethic and drive from an early age, and it has driven me to exactly where I am today.
Q: What super power would you like to have?
A: I want to have the power of healing. And not in the sense of retail therapy, although I seem to have found that niche already. The power of healing extends into all realms. Healing not only those who are broken, but also the environment and the world around us. The power to heal allows the ability to undo any damage that has been done and potentially allows the healer to make themselves stronger in the process.
