SyracuseFirst promotes independent business survey
SyracuseFirst invites and encourages local business owners to participate in a brief national survey of locally owned, independent businesses by midnight Jan. 27. The survey generally takes fewer than 10 minutes to finish and is completely confidential. In previous years, this survey has provided unique and important data about the viability of independent businesses and the impact of the localism movement. Last year, more than 3,000 local businesses completed the survey, and its findings were featured in dozens of national and local news stories across the country.
The survey aims to find out how independent businesses are faring, whether people are more aware of and supportive of independent businesses, and what key challenges and issues are impacting independent businesses. The survey is being conducted by the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and the Advocates for Independent Business (AIB) coalition, together with local business organizations like ours across North America.
The survey can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/IndieBizSurvey2016 and must completed before it closes at midnight on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Barclay launches survey on governor’s proposed $15 per hour minimum wage
Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) has launched a Minimum Wage Survey for business-owners. The survey, posted on Barclay’s Facebook page, sets out to gain feedback from New York’s business owners on how the governor’s proposed $15 per hour minimum wage would affect their businesses.
“As a public servant, it’s important to me to gain feedback from my constituents on important state issues,” said Barclay. “Many people in my district, including various small-business owners, have contacted my office and expressed their concerns with the governor’s proposed $15 per hour minimum wage increase.
“For this reason, I launched a Minimum Wage Survey on my Facebook page so business-owners across my district are able to voice where they stand on the proposed minimum wage increase, and how it might affect their businesses. I encourage all business owners to take time to complete this quick survey so that I can do my best to advocate their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions in Albany.”
