Owera Vineyards, Cazenovia’s only winery, recently took home some of the top prizes in competitions across the country related to winemaking.
At the 2017 New York Food and Wine Classic, Owera took home: the Best of Category for Blush for their Cazenovia Blush, winning a double gold; a double gold for their 2016 Semi-Dry Riesling; and silver medals for the 2016 Solo Chardonnay, 2015 Chardonnay, 2015 Frontenac Gris and the Cazenovia 1793.
“Receiving the Best Blush award is very exciting. It was a surprise to me to scroll through the announcement and see Owera Vineyards’ name there with all these other great wineries,” said Owera winemaker Amy Heiderich. “I am very happy that our wines are getting more recognition, especially the Cazenovia Blush, which is a nicely balanced blend, perfect for drinking in the summer.”
At the 2017 San Francisco International Wine Competition, Owera’s 2016 Semi-Dry Riesling and 2015 Frontenac Gris won silver medals.
Owera Vineyards took part in Taste NY in the Horticulture building at the New York State Fair on Friday Aug. 25 to showcase some of our wines and provide samples, sell glasses and bottles of wine.
