Pokémon Club | Tuesday, April 4th, 11th, and 18th at 4:00 PM: Grab your Pokémon cards and play the game with other fans. This program is taught by one of our Youth Leaders and is intended for kids new to playing Pokémon and those who are more experienced players. My Neighborhood Story Time | Thursday, April 6th at 10:30 AM | Location: Skaneateles Fire Department (77 W. Genesee Street): Join us at the Skaneateles Fire Department for a very special story time! Librarian Mary Beth will read books and sing songs and then introduce the children to a real firefighter. Registration required. For ages 2 – 5 with a caregiver.
The My Neighborhood Story Time series connects young children and their caregivers to the places, people, and animals in our neighborhood.
Perler Bead Designs | Thursday, April 6th at 2:00 PM: Make perler bead creations using our patterns or create an original piece. Registration required. For ages 8 – 15.
Parachute Explorations | Fridays April 7th | 4:00 – 4:30 PM: Join us on the first Friday of the month for a special program for kids 2 – 5 years. Kids and caregivers will work together as we sing songs and manipulate the parachute. This program reinforces fine motor skills, following directions, and early literacy practices through singing and playing. No registration. Ages 2 – 5.
Chess Club | Mondays April 10th, 17th, 24th at 4:00 PM: Learn to play chess at the library! During this fall session, kids 9+ will learn the basics of chess. Led by our teen volunteer, the session is a combination of lessons about the different chess pieces, the rules of the game, and simple strategies combined with games and chess play. Registration required. For ages 9+.
Healthy Land, Healthy Food, Healthy People Series: Regenerative Agriculture Panel Discussion| Monday, April 10th at 6:30 PM: Regenerative farmers will discuss their experiences in growing organic vegetables and raising healthy animals with regenerative farming practices.

Library Board Meeting | Tuesday, April 11th at 6:30 PM: The Library Board is made up of community members who volunteer their time and skills to further the mission of the library. All meetings are open, and the public is welcome to attend.
Cookbook Club: Italian | Wednesday, April 12th at 6:00 PM: Our theme this month is Italian! Bring a prepared dish to share and the cookbook/recipe that inspired the dish. Everyone will have a chance to sample dishes from an assortment of cookbooks while only having to prepare one dish. Make sure you come hungry! Registration required.
Books & Brews: No Pressure Book Club @ Skaneateles Brewery | Thursday, April 13th 6:00 – 8:00 PM: Ever wanted to join a book group to talk about books but didn’t want to be tied down to reading a specific book. Graphic Novel Book Club | Sunday, April 16th at 2:30 PM: Our April book is Cat Kid: Comic Club by Dav Pilkey. Every month, we’ll read a graphic novel and then get together at the library to chat about the book, play games, and flex our creative brains. For kids in grades 3 – 5.

The Two Made an Odd Couple: Lincoln, Seward, and a Civil War Friendship | Thursday, April 20th at 6:30 PM| Jeff Ludwig, Seward House Museum Education Director will discuss the fight for the presidency and eventual friendship/collaboration between Abraham Lincoln and William Seward. He’ll trace how Seward emerged from Lincoln’s chief rival to his closest confidant during the Civil war.
Guitar Concert: Stephen Brew| Saturday, April 22nd at 7:30 PM: With a vast array of performances that include a tour of Spain with the Fredonia Guitar Quartet, a mini-recital in conjunction with the Great Lakes Guitar Society, and an appearance as a national semifinalist in the prestigious Schadt String Competition in Allentown, Pennsylvania, guitarist Steve Brew has effectively established himself as a performer of incredible talent and ability. His musicianship has allowed him the opportunities to perform at the Rantucci International Guitar Festival, Indiana Public Media’s WFIU, the Alberto Ginastera Music Festival, and countless other performances across the Midwest and East Coast.

Evening Book Club: Oh, William| Wednesday, April 26th at 6:30 PM: It’s easy to join our book clubs! Come every month or just for the books that interest you most.
