MARCELLUS — The annual Mother’s Day Garden Tour at Sycamore Hill Gardens at 2130 Old Seneca Turnpike in Marcellus returns this year on Sunday, May 8.
From 10 to 4 p,m. visitors can enjoy an afternoon outdoors strolling the private gardens of the Hanford family at Sycamore Hill Gardens.
The garden tour is a one-of-a-kind outdoor event that has attracted Central New York families and their mothers for over 20 years.
Guests will have the opportunity to view over 700,000 beautiful flowering bulbs and hundreds of varieties of trees and shrubs. A large pond contains colorful koi fish, a soaring fountain, and giant steppingstones.
With dozens of unique statuaries tucked away throughout the gardens, guests are sure to find alluring scenery at every turn. A bell garden entices children to bang the gongs and gently set the windchimes in motion on the breeze. A life-size, one-acre maze made from over 1,200 emerald arborvitaes sets the stage for an adventurous journey to discover what’s hidden within.
Visitors and their families can bring their own picnic lunch or enjoy a meal from The Chicken Bandit food truck. Families are also invited to pack lawn chairs and blankets to provide relaxation at the garden tour. Food can be enjoyed away from the paths throughout the gardens and the patio will be available for accessible seating needs. Those with limited mobility are welcome to bring mobility scooters for use on the stone dust paths and lawn areas.
Baltimore Woods will also be hosting a raffle in the barn where guests and their families can purchase tickets to enter to win great local prizes.
Guests can purchase raffle tickets at $1, $5, and $10 levels at the event with either cash or by credit card and winners will be contacted in the afternoon. Tour tickets are just $8 through April 30 and $15 starting May 1.
Children ages 8 and under are admitted free. Tickets are being sold online at baltimorewoods.org.
Tickets will also be available for cash purchase at several area locations.
Visitors are encouraged to check the event website at baltimorewoods.org for more information on participating locations.
Event day online ticket availability is not guaranteed due to capacity restrictions. Parking available across the street in the field; no pets allowed.
All guests will be required to adhere to current COVID-19 safety guidelines, which may include completing a self- screening before entering the gardens and wearing masks during entry, exit, and whenever physical distancing isn’t possible.
