FAIRMOUNT — The Fairmount Community Library located at 406 Chapel Drive in Syracuse is excited to celebrate the summer season! We will be hosting a combination of virtual and outdoor programs, as well as promoting our Summer Reading Program. Monday, July 5 Ladybugs & Bees in the FCL Learning Lab Grow your own ladybug and learn about the life cycle of some common garden insects and beetles in the FCL Learning Lab! tinyurl.com/fclvideos FCL will provide summer learners their very own ladybug larva to observe from the comfort of home! You’ll grow your own ladybug and view the life cycle right before your eyes. Once your ladybug is ready to release it will be a wonderful addition to your garden. PLEASE NOTE: This registration is open to 30 families with only ONE registration per family. Participants should plan to pick up their kits the last week of June. During the week of July 12th learn about bees and the life cycle of some common garden insects like beetles. You’ll find out how they help your garden as well as other plants. Monday, July 12 at 1:00 PM The MOST Science Program at Shove Park Each animal has a tale to tell, and we don’t just mean their physical tail. Join us in Shove Park for a live demonstration with an educator from The MOST and learn about the characteristics that scientists use to classify animals. Tuesday, July 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Pop Up FCL Learning Lab at Shove Park Join Miss Jessica at Shove Park and join in on some tie dye fun using spray tie dye bottles! Bring a favorite item from home and prepare to give it a splash of color. Suggested items include t-shirts, baseball caps, headbands, canvas shoes, etc. There are two sessions for this program.
