Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m.: Marcellus Free Library Board of Trustees Meeting. Open to the public.
Mondays, May 6, 13, 20 at 2 p.m.: Memoir Writing Workshops with author/journalist David Tobin. Life moves by quickly – one day your children and grandchildren, family and friends are all asking you so many questions about your life and you feel the need to get the past down in writing. Join us for this memoir writing workshop series with award winning journalist and author Dave Tobin. This workshop series is free and open to all interested adults. Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m.: Learn How to Grow Microgreens with Todd Marsh. $5 materials fee; registration is required at marcelluslibrary.org or call the library at 315-673-3221. What are mircrogreens? Why are they becoming so popular, and should you start using them? This workshop will give you answers and show you how to grow microgreens in your own home. Learn which microgreens you should grow, where to grow them, how to care for them, how to harvest fresh microgreens every day and how to use them in food preparation.
Wednesday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.: Onondaga Audubon Society presents Birds of Prey of Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge by Linda Ziemba, Wildlife Biologist for US Fish and Wildlife Service. Free and open to the public. Held in the Friends Community Room.
Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m.: Trivia Night at the Marcellus Free Library. Trivia night comes home again in May to the Library! All ages welcome and it’s free to play. The maximum number of participants for each team is 6 people. There will be prizes for the winning team. Bring snacks for yourself, or to share! Also, feel free to bring your own bottle.
Wednesday, May 22 at 11:30 a.m.: Friends of the Marcellus Free Library Meeting. Please bring a bag lunch. Dessert and beverage will be provided. The meeting will finalize plans for the annual Spring Basket Raffle and Olde Home Days Book Sale. The Friends gift baskets will be on display throughout the month of May at the library. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the front desk during regular library hours. The Friends would like to thank everyone who donated to the Annual Basket Raffle. Olde Home Days Book Sale will take place Friday, May 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. ($5 early bird admission fee); Saturday, June 1 from 10 am to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. The cut-off date to accept donations will be May 10.
Wednesday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m.: RECYCLE! With Theresa Evans of OCRRA. What is recyclable? What do you pitch in the trash? Stay up to date with the recycling changes with this workshop/presentation with the county expert, Theresa Evans. Free and open to all.

For Childern
Saturday, May 4, 11 and 18 at 10:30 a.m.: Kids in Motion with Bette Tucker. For children ages 2 to 5 years old. Registration required by calling the library at 315-673-3221. Young children learn through interacting with their environment. Children will learn to listen to instructions, watch, model, and be mindful of others. We will move to the music and words of action using the parachute, shaker eggs, sticks, streamers, beanbags, hoops, hats and many other items.
Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. – Read to Doc the Doodle Dog. For emerging readers of all ages.
