Madison County Sheriff, Todd Hood has issued a TRAVEL BAN for Madison County until 5pm, Friday March 2.
Heavy wet snow is expected to continue until early afternoon with accumulations expected to surpass 12 inches in all areas. Reports of downed trees and wires have prevented travel on many major and secondary roadways. High winds are expected to create very hazardous white out conditions as the day continues.
The Sheriff requests you remain inside to allow Highway Department and Emergency Services to safely operate. Residents are also being warned not to approach downed trees or wires and to report the occurrences instead to 911. Should you have an emergency, call 911.
