Special February events at Camillus Senior Center

The CamillusSeniorCenter offers a variety of fun events for Seniors of all ages. Stop by to experience Mah Jongg on Friday mornings from 9:30 to noon. Art Club on Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. to work on your own project, Pitch on Tuesday afternoons at 1 p.m. Pinochle on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a,m. and Men’s Pool on Thursdays from 9 to 3 p.m. Also, use our Lending Library to help yourself to a good book from a large variety or check out a DVD video or audio books too! Our neighborhood advisor is also here the 1st Thursday or each month from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.
Line Dancing
Do you enjoy dancing but don’t have a partner? Line dancing is the perfect answer! Instructed by Beverly Proulx, this class will teach the basic steps and a fewdances. Guaranteed fun! Now to March 13 (6 weeks). From 1 to 3 p.m., $20 per participant. This class is for men and women. Please call 315-672-5820 to register.
Stretch, Strengthen & Balance
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. now to March 13 $15 per person for 6 week session (12 classes) Exercises to accommodate seniors of all agility levels. Strength and balance training exercises are done either in a seated position or standing with a chair.
Repair Cafe
Do you have an item that needs repair but don’t know how to do it? Bring it to the Repair Café. Cafe volunteers work on a variety of items like watches and clocks, small appliances, light fixtures , blade sharpening, fabric and carpentry repairs broken crockery, etc. Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 to 2 p.m. There is no charge or fee, but donations are appreciated. Guests may be asked to pay for parts. Please call 315-672-5820 for more information.
Bunko
Join us for a fun dice game. Great chance to get out and meet new friends. All supplies and refreshments provided and prizes too! Monday, Feb. 26 from 1 to 3 p.m., $2 per person cash. Call 315-672-5820 to register.
The center offers daily lunches at noon Monday-Friday for Seniors and their guests. Age 60+ suggested contribution is $3, Younger guests $6. On Tuesday, Feb. 13 a Mardi Gras Party! Call the center for more information.
The center will be closed Monday, Feb. 19 for President’s Day.
AARP Smart Driver Course
The Camillus Senior Center is offering two AARP Smart Driver programs on Wednesday, March 14 and Wednesday, April 18 from 8:30 to 3 p.m. During the one-day class, senior citizens will learn defensive driving techniques to keep themselves safe on the road. In addition, participants will receive a reduction on their car insurance. The class is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Checks should be made payable to AARP and mailed to the Camillus Senior Center, 25 ½ First Street, Camillus, NY 13031. Class size is limited so early registration is recommended.
