Five weeks after new director Dan Golden unexpectedly resigned, the Liverpool Public Library Board of Trustees has appointed another director.
The library’s assistant director, Glenna Wisniewski, who took over as acting director after Golden resigned July 2, was confirmed as the new head of the library at the board’s monthly meeting Wednesday, Aug. 5.
For the better part of the last decade, Wisniewski has served as the library’s coordinator of children, adult and teen services. She became assistant director earlier this year.
On Sept. 3 last year, Golden was appointed to the library’s top job which pays more than $80,000 annually. He resigned for personal reasons last month after 10 months on the job.
Golden had been hired last fall after the trustees conducted a nationwide search.
This time, they promoted an employee already on the Liverpool staff.
Wisniewksi, who first worked here as a substitute librarian, lives with her family in Skaneateles.
The next trustees’ meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 2, at the library’s Sargent Room.
