Film Makers Meet Up of Syracuse and the Syracuse International Film Festival (SYRFILM) are happy to announce the first annual Syracuse Short Film Festival (SSFF).
“SSFF was created as an outlet for Syracuse filmmakers to be seen and heard, because there are many talented filmmakers in the Syracuse area and surrounding Onondaga County and they need an audience,” said Film Makers Meet Up of Syracuse director James Domroe.
“Since the beginning SYRFILM has supported CNY filmmaking and helped to establish the Syracuse Film Office as a vehicle to support local filmmakers. We recognize local filmmakers are producing interesting, low budget, short format films, and saw SSFF as an opportunity to help the exhibition of these films and encourage the advancement of local film making,” said Owen Shapiro, SYRFILM Artistic Director.
Submissions are now open for SSFF’10; all local filmmakers are encouraged to enter all their short films (60 seconds to 20 minutes in length) – old, new, experimental or finely polished. All submissions should be sent to: Syracuse Short Film Festival, 500 S. Warren Street, Syracuse NY 13202. Deadline is July 31st 2010.
SSFF’10 submission entry and event tickets are FREE! For more information on submitting your film to the Festival please visit SyracuseShortFilmFestival.com or email [email protected].
SSFF’10 will take place August 14th 2010. Accepted films will be shown at venues throughout Hanover square in the city of Syracuse, including The Bull & Bear Pub and The World Lounge and Martini Bar. In addition to the film screenings, the festival will also include live music, an outdoor screening event and a 48-hour film competition. SSFF will act as a hub for local filmmakers to meet and socialize, bringing the local film community together.
