Beacoup Blue, a father and son music duo, will perform at the Nelson Odeon at 8 p.m. Friday June 4 at the Nelson Odeon.
Philadelphia-based Beaucoup Blue is the father and son duo of David and Adrian Mowry, who have been performing their roots based music nationally and internationally.
The historic Nelson Grange Building was purchased in Nov. 2009 by Jeff and Linda Schoenfeld. Together, and with help, the Schoenfelds spent the winter renovating to convert the inner structure to The Nelson Odeon. Their plan was to create a community minded center for musicians, artists, receptions, practices and concerts.
Along with promoting local music from across upstate New York, one of the Odeon’s missions is to bring small, well-respected national acts to the Central New York area to play for music lovers and music discoverers alike.
Bridging many gaps in American Music, Beaucoup Blue will bring soulful, traditional and contemporary styles meshing into an innovative and authentic sound to the Nelson Odeon. Although blues is a staple in their repertoire, they base their love in music from Folk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Country and Bluegrass. All of these interests and influences come out in their original songwriting in a unique way. A handsome range of instruments like six and twelve string guitars, slide guitar, round neck resonator guitar, combined with two soulful voices, encompass a rich and honest feel, noticeably influenced by familial ties.
The Nelson Odeon is located about three miles east of Cazenovia at the Nelson Road intersection. Parking will be provided a couple hundred yards off the Nelson Fenner Road. Concertgoers may be dropped off and picked up in front of the Odeon. Tickets are $18. Coffee, Tea and soft drinks will be served.
