The four-part Pops in the Park concert series in Onondaga Park returns this July, featuring a mix of new artists to the series, along with some audience favorites. Shows will be on Tuesdays, July 7, July 14, July 21, and July 28. All shows run from 7 to 8:45 p.m.
Kicking off the series on July 7, The Fabulous Ripcords are well-known to Central New York audiences with their mix of roots, rock-a-billy, country, blues and swing. The Ripcords have performed across the northeast to crowds in New York City and Boston as well as their home in Central New York at events including the New York State Blues Festival, Taste of Syracuse, Central New York Jazz Fest, the Inner Harbor Block Party.
Soft Spoken returns to the series on July 21 with their smooth blend of danceable R&B and soul, with Reggie Seigler, Keith “Kool” White, Dave Kuykendall, and Bob Reid, and Donna Alford.
The finale to the series, on July 28 will be the Stan Colella Orchestra, under the direction of Len Colella. The Orchestra’s repertoire consists of and accents big band selections of the 1940’s and 1950’s along with contemporary hits.
The children’s area will be expanded this year, with some crafts projects, face-painting and a storyteller.
