The Fayetteville Village Board will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at village hall to consider granting a special use permit to a non-profit agency that wants to move into a residential zone.
Dom Cambareri, president of the board of directors for Advocates Incorporate, spoke to the village board on Aug. 15.
“Our agency serves families with children with developmental, physical and emotional disabilities in a variety of capacities,” he said.
The organization wants to move its administrative office to 300 S. Manlius St., which will be vacated this fall when Callahan Dental Group moves to 404 E. Genesee St.
“Following the specific use permit that was granted in 1966, we’re asking this board to continue the preexisting non-conforming use of the property so that we are allowed to use the downstairs portion for our administrative functions,” Cambareri said.
He said the second floor would be used as an apartment.
“That apartment would be a perfect training ground for us to be able to take people with disabilities who want to be able to try independent living,” Cambareri said.
