Millie made its Broadway debut in 2002, with music written by Jeanine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan, and book by Richard Morris and Scanlan. Set in 1922, this Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of a small-town girl, Millie Dillmount (Brigid Clary), who moves to New York City with plans to marry her boss, Trevor Graydon (Joe Isgar)—that is until she meets Jimmy Smith (Noah Barnes), a mysterious drifter who makes Millie question her resolve to marry for money instead of love.
Other lead roles include Ellie Meyer as Millie’s naïve, but loveable friend, Miss Dorothy; Mary Jo Clary as the villainous Mrs. Meers; Todd Marshall and Alex Spear as Meers’ henchmen, Bun Foo and Ching Ho; Megan Riedl as Graydon’s strong-willed assistant, Miss Flannery; and Janet Kringer as the glamorous singing star, Muzzy Van Hossmere.
The Production Staff includes Director Micheal Kringer, one of Skaneateles Summer Theatre’s founding members; Music Director and Pit Orchestra Conductor Daniel Kringer, a graduate of the Crane School of Music; Associate Music Director Mike Clark; Choreographer Bradley Benjamin, an alumni of Skaneateles schools, who was in the National Tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2003; Stage Manager Leia Depeche; Assistant Stage Managers Karley Davis and Alexis Teachout; Costume Designer Pam Spear, and Scenic Designer Laura Andrusko.
