Cazenovia — The Madison County Farm Bureau will host a celebrity bartending night at Owera Vineyards from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. All tips generated at the event will benefit the hunger-relief mission of Food Bank of Central New York. In addition, Owera Vineyards will donate 20 percent of sales at the event to the Food Bank. People that attend will be able to enjoy local wines, beer samples and hard cider along with food and live music by The Old Clay Stone.
“This event is a great opportunity for the non-farm public to interact with people who are involved in agriculture every day,” said Johanna Bossard, promotion and education chair for the Madison County Farm Bureau. “The seed-to-table concept is just a concept to many people, but through personal interaction with farmers we are able to raise awareness about where your food comes from and just how important farms are to their communities. And what a great way to do it at Owera Winery while also helping such a great organization, the Food Bank of CNY.”
Owera Vineyards is a farm winery located at 5276 East Lake Road. Last year’s event raised $1,131 for the Food Bank’s hunger-relief mission.
