Pair Up for February: Double your fun
February’s Th3 drawing features two fabulous prizes! #1:a generous gift certificate of $75 from Armory Square’s Opus Restaurant and Lounge, 218 Walton St (Armory Square). Opus blends classic sophistication with contemporary twists, serving a delicious generous menu against an ambiant backdrop of smoothe jazz and cozy atmosphere. Open 5 pm -11pm Thursday through Saturday, Monday through Wednesday 5-10p.m. with bar till 2 a.m. Stop in and catch some piano jazz. #2 The Syracuse Cultural Workers (SCW), 400 Lodi St., a peace and justice publisher founded in 1982 that publishes socially conscious visual materials has donated a framed poster by artist Nivia Gonzalez. The 18 x 24 print portrays one of Gonzalez’s archetypical women with simple grace and elegance. SCW support activist art that act as tools for change. Everyone who has entered the Th3 drawing to date will be entered in the drawing to win one of the two prizes.
Pick a pair to visit for Th3: Begin at Delavan with Kwangpyo Koh and then head for Clayscapes to see the whimsical ceramics of Ron McGregor. Meet Barbara Jean Weingart, silk artist at Eureka Crafts then scoot out the back door to the Warehouse for Michael Barletta’s window display and performance. Catch Amy Elouafi’s talk on “Napoleon’s ‘Discovery’ of Egypt” at SU Art Galleries at 5:30, then hop over to the Westcott for the Origami & Sumi brush painting demo. Bring a furry friend to Spark. Th3 is a coalition of 24 popular Syracuse visual arts venues that schedule free events during the evening of the third Thursday of every month, from 5 to 8 p.m. Maps, bus schedule and Th3 show listings at all Th3 locations.
