In the first of two meets in a span of 48 hours, the West Genesee boys swim team went to Nottingham Tuesday and, in the same pool where Section III titles will be decided next month, earned a 92-62 victory over the Bulldogs.
Of course, WG also got to bear witness to Westhill’s Dan O’Connor, who swims for Nottingham, as he swam the 200 freestyle in 1:43.49, the best time in Section III this winter.
Not that the Wildcats were content to sit back and watch too much. Ben Seketa swam the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.93 after helping Pat O’Donnell, Kyle Crompton and Carson Elias tear through the 200 medley relay in 1:40.65, again the top sectional time of the season.
On his own, O’Donnell was victorious in the 200 individual medley in 2:04.05 before Nick Lorusso won the 50 freestyle (25.07 seconds). Rob Kotheimer swam the 100 freestyle in 49.33 seconds, with Kevin Taylor needing 54.89 seconds to prevail in the 100 freestyle.
The Wildcats, at 4-0, go for its fifth win in a row against Oswego Thursday night.
