With each passing match, the Canastota girls volleyball team moves closer to an undefeated regular season. The Raiders passed yet another hurdle in last Wednesday’s trip to Mount Markham, where it needed just three games to roll past the Mustangs 25-17, 25-14, 25-11. In that brief court time, junior Jessica Patterelli, who just passed 1,500 assists for her career, added 20 more assists to the ledger, plus 17 digs, two aces and two kills. Denae Rinaldo, who just had her 500th career kill, chipped in with 10 kills and nine digs, while Katelyn Rounds had six digs and three kills. Jennifer Arndt contributed three aces. From there, Canastota went out Friday and swept past Waterville 25-12, 25-14, 25-15, led by Patterelli with her 15 assists and six kills. Rinaldo, with eight kills, took a slightly smaller role as Tracy O’Hearn and Stephanie Thornton each picked up four kills and Rounds earned three kills and four blocks. Canastota visits Sauquoit Valley on Friday before closing the regular season with back-to-back home meets against Morrisville-Eaton and Adirondack.
