Peter John Cross was born in Sheffield, England, on May 17, 1938, and passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 8, 2022. A life well lived in both Skaneateles and Windermere, FL.
Peter graduated from Manchester University in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in science with honors in chemistry.
After many years as president at P&S Textiles, he started his own company, Crosible Filtration in Moravia, N.Y., in 1978, a small business that turned into a global success. He was loved by his employees, customers and suppliers.
Peter enjoyed traveling all over the world, for both business and pleasure, with his wife Joanne, from England to South Africa and everywhere in between. Although he couldn’t swim, he loved the cruise ship adventures as well. He was an avid golfer playing at his favorite courses in Scotland, Isleworth, and Skaneateles Country Club.
He was the most loving and caring man, with a heart of gold and willingness to help those in need. He loved his family and all his friends near and far. His absence will be missed greatly.
Peter will be reunited with his son, Christopher, his Mum and Dad, sister Pat, brother Tony and many of his friends. I’m positive he will be playing a lot of golf, pitch and drinking a few gimlets.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joanne (Puccio), daughters: Joanne (Greg) Skaneateles; Carolyn Swart (Nico) Atlanta, GA; Jennifer McColgin Winter Garden, FL, stepson Todd McColgin; grandchildren; Christopher and Ryan Swart (Atlanta, GA) Sister, Frances Cross and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Skaneateles. A memorial reception will be held at Isleworth at a later date.
