ONONDAGA COUNTY – Varying between inside and outside practice, each of the Baldwinsville golf teams would get their 2025 seasons underway with matches against both sides from Cicero-North Syracuse.
At Northern Pines, B’ville Red faced C-NS Blue and lost a 174-202 decision, with Peyton Kowalski the Bees’ best individual as her nine-hole score of 42 was second only to the 38 from the Northstars’ Chloe Tice.
Kelly Nadzan added a 50, behind 45s from Abby Hildreth and Lauren Sisk and a 46 from Aubrey Panto, while Abigail Mantione shot 52 and Tara Friedman posted a 58.
Kowalski would lead B’ville past Fayetteville-Manlius White 202-205 Tuesday at Woodcrest. Shooting 45, Kowalskl edged the Hornets’ Katherine Parmley for individual honors, with Amelia Hahn getting a 51, Nadzan shooting 52 and Mantione adding a 54.
Thursday’s match saw B’ville Red go to Northern Pines to face C-NS’s younger Green squad and, making it back-to-back victories, prevailed by a 200-233 margin.
For the third match in a row Kowalski topped the individual race, her 45 part of a top-three Bees sweep. Hahn shot 49, with Nadzan adding a 51 and Lauren Wickes earning a 55 to equal the low Northstars round by Jillian King.
The younger B’ville White team fell to C-NS Green 266-271 earlier in the week. Carmela Budzich shot a 66 which Olivia Denny matched one ahead of Mia Cummings, but they trailed Sofia Normanly, whose 61 paced the Northstars.
Activity will continue to pick up next week with B’ville Red having a rematch with C-NS Blue at Timber Banks in between matches with Liverpool and West Genesee, while B’ville White starts the week with C-NS Blue but then moves on for its own clashes with F-M White and C-NS Green.
