To the editor:
I am writing to introduce myself as a candidate for the FM Board of Education, and to ask for your vote on May 16. I invite you to visit my website at SeidbergFM.com to learn more about me and about my priorities in this school district.
I am a lifelong FM resident, an FM graduate (Class of 1986), an attorney, a business owner and a parent of two FM students. My wife, Jenée, is also an FM graduate. After FM, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University, where I graduated with a double major in psychology and philosophy. I then attended law school at the Boston University School of Law, where I earned my Juris Doctor degree.
I am a litigation attorney with my own law firm, and am also the president and co-founder of an international internet communications company that provides critical technology and communication tools to fire departments, EMS agencies and other first responder entities across North America. I believe that my educational and professional background will enable me to bring a valuable perspective to the board.
Although my business endeavors have kept me travelling extensively for the past decade, I have remained actively involved in the FM community as a as a trustee of the FM Education Foundation, for which I am the chair of the Finance and Legal Committee, as a youth soccer coach for 14 seasons, as the co-chair of the Cavalry Club Swim Team, as a member of the FM Facilities Task Force and as an FM parent.
As a beneficiary of an FM education, I understand the extraordinary value of our district’s educational program and the life opportunities that it provides to our students. Supporting our educators and educational programs for the benefit of our students, in a fiscally prudent manner, is the most important responsibility that is bestowed upon our Board of Education, and I would be honored to have the privilege of your vote of confidence at the May 16 election.
