Casey Vanderstouw, a music teacher at Baker High School and director of the Baldwinsville Central School District’s marching band, has been elected to the position of president-elect of the New York State Field Band Conference, Inc. (NYSFBC, Inc.). The NYSFBC, Inc. is responsible for regulating and scheduling field band events in New York State and for the enhancement of field band competitions.
Vanderstouw’s election is a six-year commitment to the organization. He will serve two years as president-elect, two years as president, and the final two years as post-president.
“It’s an incredible honor for our marching band program and speaks to the hard work and dedication from our students and instructors over the past 10 years,” said Vanderstouw. “Being recognized by your peers is always rewarding, and it’s an incredible opportunity to help not only B’ville kids, but kids from across New York state.”
Vanderstouw is the first Baldwinsville staff member to be elected to the position of president-elect of NYSFBC, Inc.
