Students form Manlius Pebble Hill School in DeWitt recently won more than 50 awards in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing competition. The awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for students in grades 7 through 12.
MPH was the eighth most awarded school overall, in a competition that included thousands of pieces of art (5,560 this year) submitted by hundreds of student artists, representing nearly 90 area schools. Artwork is judged by professional artists and educators from the region.
This year, a record 1,885 works in 19 categories were recognized. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 11, at Onondaga Community College. These works will be on exhibit through March 2 at OCC’s Whitney Applied Technology Center.
