Christian Brothers Academy junior Hari Nanthakumar, was one of the three finalists selected from Central New York to participate at the Intel International Science and Engineering Competition to be held May 14 to 19 in Los Angeles, CA.
The regional competition was held in Syracuse on Sunday, March 26. High school students living in Oswego, Onondaga, Cayuga, Tomkins, Cortland, Madison, Broome, Chemung, and Oneida counties competed.
In addition, Nanthakumar won the following awards at the regional competition: American Society for Material Science Outstanding Performance Award; Lockheed Martin Engineering and Technology Best Performance Award; and Central New York Science and Engineering High School Student Highest Honor Medal.
Nanthakumar will be competing against 1700 students from across the world in Los Angeles. All the travel related expenses are to be paid by Intel for the students selected and their parents.
