The East Syracuse Minoa Spartan Marching Band had two performances in Nashville, Tenn., at the Vanderbilt Marching Invitational Oct. 8 and earned multiple awards. In the preliminary competition, the band earned the Chancellor’s Cup Grand Championship trophy for being the highest scoring Small Division band (Classes A & AA), first place in the AA Class, Best Color guard AA, Best percussion AA, a Superior Rating (scoring 80 or above) and Most Spirited Boosters. In the finals, ESM placed sixth with an 85.4 and was only outscored by schools in the larger AAA and AAAA classes.
