On June 17, Fayetteville-Manlius High School held its 63rd annual graduation ceremony Friday evening at the SRC Arena on the Onondaga Community College campus. There were 366 candidates for graduation.
Traditionally, the senior with the highest grade point average is asked to speak during the ceremony. This year, that student was Shirley Kexuan Zhang, who plans to attend Princeton University this fall. During her speech, Shirley encouraged her peers to find joy in each day. “Enjoy the small things,” Shirley said. “There’s always something to look forward to; there’s always happiness to be had.”
Other speakers included Superintendent Craig Tice, F-M High School Principal Ray Kilmer, Senior Class President Elize Pidor Oliverio and F-M High School English teacher Mary Patroulis, who the students selected to speak.
