CBA celebrates 116th commencement as 126 students receive diplomas

One hundred and twenty-six students graduated from CBA on Sunday, June 5. The ceremonies for the Class of 2016, held at Temple Adath Yeshuran on Kimber Road in Dewitt, included the presentation of several academic and service awards and diplomas, and the appointment of Timothy Schmitt, son of Edward and Elizabeth Schmitt of Baldwinsville, to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Brennan Carman, the son of Kevin and Coleen Carman of North Syracuse delivered the valedictorian speech. Carman will attend Yale University in the fall to study biochemistry. Geoffrey Parkes, son of Phillip and Barbara Parkes of Camillus, gave the Salutatorian speech. Parkes will attend the University of Michigan to study aerospace engineering.

The Class of 1966, celebrating their jubilee reunion, was also on hand to present the school with a check for $167,500. It is the largest reunion gift ever presented in the school’s history, and it surpasses last year’s all-time reunion gift of $140,000 from the CBA Class of 1965.
