Joan Marie Korb, 87 years old, went home to be with the Lord on May 18, 2021. She was devoted Christian and will be greatly missed by three generations of her beloved family who knew her best for her unfailing faith.
Joan was born in the Bronx, N.Y., to Robert Dieckmann of Hollerdeich, Germany and Ella Mae Ostrander who was born and raised in Syracuse. Marlene Shapiro, who was her only sibling, passed away in 2015. Joan married Walter A. Korb in 1955 and they were married for 46 years. They resided in Cazenovia for the last part of their years together.
Surviving are her four children; Eric Brian Korb of DeRuyter, N.Y., Lisa Ann Sanders of Chesterfield, MO, Heidi Marie Dudley of Pompey, N.Y., and Karen Sue Pfleegor of DeRuyter, N.Y. Joan was blessed with 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Joan had been a member of Eastern Hills Bible Church and Crossroads Christian Church since 1975. She was an avid painter and loved sharing her artwork. Our Mother will be remembered for her love of painting, gardening and cooking but most of all we will remember her for the love she gave to her family and friends.
